Michael Kress

Michael Kress

Overview & Responsibilities: Michael is the Senior Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Crosspoint. With an extensive 40+ years of professional investment experience, Michael has developed a high regard in the San Francisco investment community and has largely contributed in making Crosspoint one of the preeminent authorities on tactical investing. He has spent the last 20+ years of his career advising individuals and institutions using Crosspoint’s core investment methodology. Michael is a member of the firm’s investment committee and enjoys taking the time to develop personal connections with the firm’s existing clients.

Previous Experience: Prior to starting Crosspoint, Michael was a Managing Director at ThinkEquity LLC in the Asset Management division. Before ThinkEquity, he held positions with Banc of America Securities, Credit Suisse First Boston (formerly Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he worked 22 years), Smith Barney, and Bear Stearns. Michael graduated from Ohio University with a BA in Business Administration.

Personal side: Michael and his wife, Linda currently live in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco where they raised their two daughters. They are both avid golfers and between the two of them, have 32 club championships…of which Mike contributed 2 of them. He is actively involved in their community and church, including the founding of Cornerstone Church’s Men’s Prayer Breakfast. In 1978, Mike founded the San Francisco chapter of The Businessmen’s Fellowship and remains the Vice President today. He has been a Trustee for Ohio University and District Chief for Beta Theta Pi. Mike spent the earlier parts of his life in Pittsburgh, PA and New York, NY.

Tony Cantando

Overview & Responsibilities: Tony is the lead portfolio manager for Crosspoint’s flagship Tactical All-Cap Core Portfolio and Co-Founder of Crosspoint. He is responsible for the daily management of the portfolio and has been a portfolio manager for the strategy since 2007. Tony is a member of the investment committee and enjoys working with current and prospective investors to help them understand how Crosspoint’s investment solutions fit into their financial objectives and goals.

Previous Experience: Prior to starting Crosspoint, Tony was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager for ThinkEquity LLC in the Asset Management division. Before ThinkEquity, he worked for the Private Bank at Banc of America Investment Services (BAS) and was a Market Maker/Specialist with Wedbush Morgan Securities. Tony holds FINRA series 7, 24, 55, and 66 licenses and earned a B.S.E. from St. Mary’s College of California.

Personal side: Tony is a Bay Area native and currently resides in Orinda, CA with his wife, Brittney and two daughters. As a sports enthusiast, Tony enjoys cheering on his “beloved” Oakland A’s, San Francisco 49ers, & Golden State Warriors. Before becoming the back-yard coach of his daughters, Tony was a high school basketball coach at his alma mater.

Andrew Lancaster

Overview & Responsibilities: Andrew is responsible for a wide variety of roles at Crosspoint ranging from research and analysis of investment decisions all the way to daily operational support.

Previous Experience: Prior to starting at Crosspoint, Andrew held positions as an Operations Specialist at Sanctuary Wealth Services before becoming a capital markets analyst at Goldman Sachs. He has been working in the industry since 2014, and looks to expand his experience in the field for years to come. Andrew holds a degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Personal side: Andrew is an Orange County native, but recently moved to the city of San Francisco and currently resides in the Mission District. He played volleyball at Cal, and will forever be a supporter of Cal Athletics. Besides cheering for his home teams like the Anaheim Angels and Los Angeles Lakers, you can find him skiing/snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain or rock-climbing at local gyms.

Sanctuary Founder and CEO

Jeff Spears is a co-founder and CEO of Sanctuary Wealth Services, LLC, and one of the nation’s recognized leaders in the RIA industry. Jeff has over 25 years of experience in wealth management as a wealth advisor and as an executive leading the national wealth management businesses of Montgomery Securities, Bank of America Private Bank, and Presidio Financial Partners LLC. Prior to co-founding Sanctuary Wealth Services, Jeff was a Partner of Presidio Financial Partners, where he was responsible for the firm’s wealth management business from 2004 to 2007. During that period, wealth management assets grew from $400 million to more than $3 billion. Earlier in his career, Jeff was the National Sales Manager for Bank of America Private Bank, responsible for the integration of Montgomery Securities’ Private Client Group into the Private Bank. Jeff was also head of Montgomery Securities Private Client (MPCS) group from 1999 to 2004 and a member of the firm's executive committee. Jeff lives in San Francisco with his wife and two daughters.

Celeste is responsible for the Sanctuary's accounting and tax functions and serves as Sanctuary's Registered Financial Operations Professional (FINOP) to FINRA. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Celeste has worked with Sanctuary for the past three years. Her professional focus has been working with entrepreneurial organizations in both the public and private sector. She has deep experience in tax, accounting, and systems management, and has worked for a number of accounting and professional services firms, including Hood & Strong, LLP, and Ekhoff Accountancy Corporation.

Sanctuary Compliance Officer

Andrew Epstein is Sanctuary’s Compliance Officer and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, supporting Broker-Dealers, Investment Advisors, Portfolio Managers, and Private Equity Funds. His specialties include Regulatory Compliance, Equities and Fixed Income Trading, Sales Practice, Marketing Communications, Alternative Investments, and Operations. Andrew was the Chief Compliance Officer of Bond Desk Trading, one of the largest retail-oriented, fixed-income trading systems. Previously, Andrew was employed with Charles Schwab & Co. for over 25 years, acting as Director of Compliance. His extensive regulatory knowledge and management experience have successfully implemented numerous company-wide projects that include redesigned customer confirmations, statements, and trading systems. Andrew is a General, Municipal Securities, and Operations Professional Principal, and served as a member on the FINRA Fixed-Income Committee from 2006 through 2008, advising on industry policies. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Andrew lives in the Bay Area, spending time with his wife and three children.
